This positioning stems from recent scattered storms over the April 11-12 weekend—accompanied by marginal severe risks on April 13—including damaging winds and excessive rainfall north of US-59, now giving way to building high pressure from the east and southerly winds of 10-20 knots advecting humid Gulf air. Ensemble models (GFS, ECMWF) show spread due to uncertain cloud cover and late-day heating potential above April's climatological average of 79°F, with overnight updates likely to refine probabilities ahead of resolution.
