Carlos Torres Piña leads the Michoacán gubernatorial market at 62.7% after Morena designated him state coordinator for the defense of the transformation on September 14, 2026, following an internal selection process that sidelined rivals including Raúl Morón Orozco. As former state attorney general and secretary of government under incumbent Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, Torres Piña benefits from alignment with the current administration and strong polling leads in Morena preference surveys conducted earlier in 2026. Grecia Quiroz at 14% draws support as a potential independent or Movimiento Ciudadano figure tied to the high-profile assassination of her husband, the Uruapan mayor, while lower-priced names such as Alfonso Martínez Alcázar and Gladyz Butanda reflect limited traction outside their party bases ahead of the June 2027 vote. The pricing embeds Morena’s structural advantage in the state alongside uncertainty over opposition consolidation and independent candidacies.
