Recent polling for New Zealand's November 7, 2026, general election under the MMP system shows Labour and National both polling below 30 percent in multiple surveys, with the left bloc (Labour, Greens, and allies) and right bloc (National, ACT, NZ First) locked in a tight contest for the 61 seats needed to govern. August and early September results from Roy Morgan, RNZ-Reid Research, 1News-Verian, and Taxpayers' Union-Curia indicate shifting minor-party support, including gains for the Greens and ACT alongside variability for the Opportunity Party, directly influencing projected coalition outcomes. These trends, combined with voter concerns over cost of living and economic management, underpin the current trader consensus favoring Labour at 55.5 percent implied probability while keeping National competitive at 44 percent.
