Trader sentiment for San Francisco's August 28 high temperature centers on marine layer strength and stratus persistence, with the 68-69°F outcome at 35.5% implied probability edging 66-67°F at 26.5%. Persistent onshore flow from the cool Pacific and a strong temperature inversion have maintained low stratus and fog through much of the morning, limiting solar heating and keeping readings in the upper 50s to mid-60s at key stations. National Weather Service guidance and recent observations point to a potential afternoon peak near 65-67°F if clouds thin modestly, consistent with late-August climatology of 69-70°F highs but tempered by above-normal marine influence this week. Model consensus shows limited warming potential without a pronounced offshore shift, leaving room for modest upside if clearing accelerates.
