Trader consensus on Polymarket reflects steady global seismic activity, with USGS data showing three magnitude 7.0+ earthquakes in the past 30 days: a 7.5 off Tonga on March 24, 7.3 near Vanuatu on March 30, and 7.4 off Indonesia on April 1—the most recent 15 days ago. No events have occurred since, amid a year-to-date total of four M7+ quakes, aligning with the USGS historical average of 15-20 annually worldwide along active plate boundaries like the Pacific Ring of Fire. Seismic rates remain within normal variability, as earthquakes cannot be reliably forecasted short-term due to complex fault dynamics. Traders await real-time USGS catalog updates, with resolution hinging on any new M7.0+ event per official moment magnitude scale before the market deadline.
