The 2027 Campeche gubernatorial race remains wide open more than a year before voters decide, with trader probabilities clustered tightly among a large field of aspirants from Morena and allied parties as well as opposition figures. Morena, PT, and PVEM opened their internal registration process for state coordination roles in June 2026, drawing multiple contenders including Gerardo Sánchez Sansores, nephew of incumbent Layda Sansores, and opposition senator Pablo Angulo Briceño of the PRI. No candidate has secured a clear edge through polling or endorsements, and the governor has publicly distanced herself from family involvement in the nomination. This early-stage fragmentation, combined with the coalition’s dominance in the state and the absence of decisive primary outcomes or major shifts in alliances, sustains the balanced positioning. Further movement is likely once Morena’s internal selection advances, new surveys emerge, or external events such as legislative developments or candidate withdrawals alter the field.
