Recent National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance for Houston on August 29 points to sunny skies, light easterly winds, and a modest 20% afternoon thunderstorm chance, supporting daytime highs near 95–97°F amid typical late-summer Gulf moisture. This aligns with the market’s leading 96–97°F bin at 47.5% implied probability, followed closely by 94–95°F, as the region emerges from an earlier August hot spell that produced several 99–101°F readings but shows slight moderation in steering patterns. Low precipitation totals and stable high pressure minimize cooling from clouds or outflow, while climatological norms for late August place average highs near 93–95°F. New model runs and NWS updates tomorrow morning remain the key near-term catalysts that could shift resolution odds within the narrow temperature bins.
