Democratic nominee Cait Conley leads trader pricing in the NY-17 contest at 67% against Republican incumbent Mike Lawler at 27.5%, reflecting the seat’s status as a narrow swing district that voted for Kamala Harris in 2024 despite Lawler’s 2024 reelection. Conley secured the Democratic nomination in the June 23 primary with just over 50% of the vote in a crowded field. Recent polling from late July shows Lawler narrowly ahead or tied, yet broader midterm patterns—where the party out of power has historically gained House seats—support the market’s lean toward the Democratic challenger. Lawler maintains an edge in cash on hand and name recognition entering the final stretch before the November 3 general election.

A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
