Missouri's 1st congressional district, encompassing St. Louis and surrounding areas, maintains a strong Democratic partisan lean reinforced by demographics and voting history. Incumbent Wesley Bell secured the Democratic nomination in the August 4 primary with nearly 60 percent of the vote against Cori Bush, while Republican nominee Paul Berry emerged from a low-turnout contest. Nonpartisan forecasters including the Cook Political Report, Inside Elections, and Sabato's Crystal Ball rate the seat as Solid or Safe Democratic ahead of the November 3 general election. Trader consensus at 98.6 percent for a Democratic win reflects these structural factors, limited Republican infrastructure, and the absence of competitive polling or recent shifts. A late-breaking scandal, health issue affecting the nominee, or unprecedented national Republican surge would be required to meaningfully alter the outcome.
