Republican incumbent Eli Crane secured his party's nomination unopposed in the July 21, 2026, primary for Arizona's 2nd congressional district, while former Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez advanced as the Democratic nominee. The district, which covers northeastern Arizona including Flagstaff, Prescott, and substantial portions of the Navajo Nation, carries a modest Republican lean reflected in Crane's 2024 reelection margin and Cook Political Report's Likely R rating. Nez's campaign emphasizes turnout among Native American voters, who comprise about one-fifth of the electorate and helped narrow the 2024 contest. Trader consensus assigning Republicans a 63.5% implied probability aligns with incumbency advantages and historical voting patterns in this seat, though the sizable Native American population and Nez's profile keep Democratic chances at 37%. The general election is scheduled for November 3, 2026.
