Republican incumbent Jeff Hurd holds a clear edge in Colorado's 3rd congressional district race due to the seat's Republican partisan voting index and his status as a sitting freshman representative following victory in the June 30, 2026, GOP primary. The district's rural and western slope demographics have historically supported Republican candidates, aligning with trader consensus reflected in the 65.5% Republican probability. Democrat Dwayne Romero, who secured his party's nomination in the same primary cycle, benefits from a July 2026 poll showing a statistical tie at 46% Hurd to 45% Romero among likely voters. Broader 2026 midterm dynamics, including fundraising and turnout patterns in this swing-leaning district, remain key variables that could narrow or widen the gap before November.
