Incumbent Republican Mario Díaz-Balart seeks re-election in Florida’s 26th congressional district, where recent redistricting has preserved a Republican-leaning electorate despite a modest shift leftward in the new map. The seat carries a Solid Republican rating from major forecasters, consistent with Díaz-Balart’s 70.9 percent victory in 2024 and the district’s underlying partisan voting index. A Democratic primary between Nicole Locklin and Yurina Gil is scheduled for August 18, 2026, while the Republican primary features the incumbent with no significant opposition. Fundraising data show Republicans outspending Democrats by a wide margin, and the absence of competitive polling or notable campaign developments reinforces trader expectations of continued Republican control heading into the November general election.
